The following are our core policies. Please note that if you have a question or complaint and want it addressed immediately put it in writing and submit it to our main office at 110 East End Ave, Suite 1A, New York , NY 10028. If you email it, send to linda@takemetothewater It may take 24 hours M-F to receive it. We will then confirm receipt of your submission by the Email you provide.

If somebody lodges a concern about you as an employee we will contact you by phone and if needed in writing. If there are any changes to these policies you will receive them in writing or Email notification.

Drug Free / Alcohol-Free Environment
Employees are prohibited from unlawfully consuming, distributing, possessing, selling, or using controlled substances while on duty. In addition, employees may not be under the influence of any controlled substance, such as drugs or alcohol, while at work, on company premises or engaged in company business. Prescription drugs taken as prescribed are an exception to this policy. Anyone violating this policy may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Open Door Policy
The company has an open door policy and takes employee concerns and problems seriously. The company values each employee and strives to provide a positive work experience. Employees are encouraged to bring any workplace concerns or problems they might have or know about to their supervisor or some other member of management.

Dress Code
If you are a swim instructor you must wear appropriate swimwear, remember you are with children and their parents. Please wear one piece bathing suit for women and for men the appropriate size suit. Employees are expected to dress appropriately for their individual work responsibilities and position including Aquatic Directors, Office, Lifeguards and Security personal both in and around the company facilities. Please inquire further if needed.

Pay Day
This company assigns positions, determines wages and compensates employees in accordance with state and local laws and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Your staff invoice is due every two weeks on Sunday by midnight. Payroll is distributed the following Wednesday by about noon. If for any reason you have not submitted your invoice on time, your paycheck may be held for as long as two weeks until next payroll is generated.
Please submit payroll by going to our website and scrolling to the bottom of the Home Page and click on Employment, enter the password swimming, fill out the form, click submit.
Any change in name, address, telephone number, marital status or number of exemptions claimed by an employee must be reported to office and the proper forms filled out.

Sickness / Tardiness / Time change
If you are feeling sick and can’t swim you must call Julio (917) 747-1977 the director of personal. If you can’t reach him leave a message and call the office (888) 794-6692. Then call the Director at the pool for that day. If you do not reach anyone, please try to come to the pool. You may be asked to help from the pool deck. Safety is our first priority.

When you are late you will be paid only from time you enter the water. If you are asked to come to the pool later then your regularly scheduled start time or to leave before your expected end time, you will not be paid for that time.
Employees are expected to arrive on time and ready for work, not just when classes start. An employee who arrives after their scheduled start time is considered late. Lateness is a safety issue so its very important. You will be asked to leave employment at TMTTW as a result of this continued problem.

Schedule
After you are hired we usually will give you an academic schedule. Please try to maintain your schedule for the entire semester which is usually 8-15 weeks. We expect you to attend all classes. If you know you’re going to be out in advance please let us know. Most employment is part time.

Swim Classes
Classes are divided up by age and ability. Classes are 30 min or 45 min classes. At the end and beginning of the day all employees are expected to help pick up the toys and restore the facilities to its original cleanliness. Some facilities only give 15 minutes to leave the facility. All equipment is owned by TMTTW and taking anything will be cause for dismissal. The same goes for any other property that is found at our facilities.

Clients
All clients are property of TMTTW and at no time are you allowed to exchange numbers email addresses or personal info. If a client asks you to babysit or do any other personal help just ask them to talk to the director. Someone from the main office will contact you and talk if it is appropriate to further contact our client.

Children/Swimmers left alone.
At no time should you ever put yourself in a position to be alone with a child. That includes helping them change or go to the bathroom. All guardians are required to stay by the pool unless the student is over 16. If a child is alone, tell the Director or the main office.

Paperwork
All employees must have legal working papers to work for TMTTW. You will be asked to sign a form giving permission to do a legal background check. You must sign a W4 to get paid and an employment agreement as well as your state W4 and National Security forms. (Please note if you are working for another learn to swim program we want to know which company anytime this happens). All employees are paid on the books. You will also be required to give a copy of your proof of identity and or citizenship. A copy will be made of all valid swim related certifications if needed.
